As we walk out our life’s journey with all of its twists and turns and ups and downs, our God who called us is faithful to lead us and go before us and never forsake us. He promises to make the crooked places straight; to raise up the low places and to lower the high places. He promises to be the voice behind us saying, “This is the way. Walk this way.” when we turn to the right or to the left. He promises that goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives (1Cor. 1:9, Deut. 31:8, Isa. 45:2, Isa. 40:4, Isa 30:21, Ps. 23:6).
Yahweh, who spoke the very worlds into existence and knows each of the stars by name, has chosen us and has set His favor upon us simply because He loves us. He loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, Yeshua Ha Mashiach, to die upon a cross in our place; the death of the innocent in place of the guilty; the death of the sinless in place of the sinner. (Gen. 1:14-18; Ps. 147:4; Jn. 15:16; Ps. 5:12; 1Jn. 4:10; Jn. 3:16; Rom. 5:8; 1Pe. 1:18-19; 2Cor. 5:21)
We have been redeemed for the praise of His glory. We have been purchased with that innocent blood of Jesus and redeemed from a life of darkness that we might diligently walk in light and in love. That we should be ambassadors of His Kingdom; kings and priests representing who He is and telling everyone of the good news of His love and deliverance. (Eph. 1:12; Acts 20:28; Col. 1:13; Eph. 5:2, 8, 15; 2Cor. 5:20; Rev. 1:6; Jn. 20:21)
All of these blessings and promises are ours as we grow in grace, wisdom, and understanding. Ever growing and learning what the will of our Heavenly Father is for each of us. Growing in the knowledge of our destinies, both individually and collectively. Building up the Body of Christ with each of our gifts and abounding in the good works that our Heavenly Father predestined to be the purpose for our lives. (2Pet. 1:4; Rom 12:2; Eph. 2:10; Eph. 4:13; 1Cor. 14:26; Heb. 10:24)
Therefore, we put off the old man that was buried with Jesus through our baptism and we put on the new man that was raised with Jesus in that same baptism. Old things are passed away and everything has been made new. We now put on the New Man. We put on the armor of light; the armor of God. We put on Christ and we walk in newness of life being always ready to give a reason for the hope that is within us, because, although we live in this world, we are not of this world. We are pilgrims and aliens with our hearts and vision focused on a better place where we will be received by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ when we pass from this life. (Eph. 4:22; Rom. 6:4; 2Cor. 5:17; Eph. 4:24; Col.3:10; Rom. 13:12; Eph. 6:11; Gal. 3:27; 1Pet. 3:15; Rom. 6:4; Jn. 17:14; 1Pet. 2:11; Heb. 10:34; 2Cor. 5:8)
